The Sales Engineer is a customer- and partner-facing pre-sales technical role based in Singapore, supporting assigned markets across ASEAN. The role leads technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept activities throughout the sales cycle. The role also works closely with Regional Sales Managers, channel partners, consultants, and internal specialists. The role will travel regionally for customer meetings, partner enablement, demonstrations, events, and project-related activities as business needs require.
The successful candidate combines practical technical depth with strong business judgment, communicates clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, and is proactive, able to take initiative, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and navigate complex sales situations.
What your day will look like:
- Lead technical discovery sessions with end users, channel partners, and consultants to understand operational, integration, cybersecurity, and infrastructure requirements
- Translate requirements into appropriate solution architectures, system designs, sizing estimates, bills of materials, and technical proposal content
- Plan and deliver tailored product demonstrations, technical presentations, workshops, and limited-scope proof-of-concept engagements
- Contribute to RFP, RFI, tender, compliance matrix, and consultant specification responses with accurate and timely technical information
- Support Regional Sales Managers throughout qualified opportunities by validating technical fit, documenting assumptions and dependencies, and identifying technical risks early
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders for complex designs, integrations, and deployment requirements.
- Work with channel partners and system integrators to review solution designs, troubleshoot technical issues, and strengthen their ability to position and demonstrate Genetec solutions
- Build trusted technical relationships with customers and partners and identify opportunities to expand the appropriate use of Genetec solutions.
More about you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- At least 5 years of experience in pre-sales engineering, solution consulting, systems integration, technical sales, or another customer-facing technical role
- Ability to lead technical discovery and communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to support channel partners, distributors, consultants, system integrators, or enterprise end users
- Hands-on experience preparing or delivering technical demonstrations, presentations, workshops, solution proposals, or POCs
- Working knowledge of enterprise networking, server infrastructure, cloud or hybrid cloud concepts, and systems integration
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and leadership
- Experience with enterprise physical security, video management, access control, ALPR, intercom, decision management, or unified security platforms is preferred
- Experience with solution sizing, architecture diagrams, RFP/RFI responses, compliance matrices, tenders, and POCs is preferred
- Additional language skills relevant to ASEAN markets are preferred
