As a Data Tester at Civica, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of multiple data migration projects by safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of financial data. You’ll design and execute test cases, validate reconciliations, and apply SQL expertise to verify data across legacy and target systems. Working hand‑in‑hand with Data Engineers, Analysts, and UK stakeholders, you’ll be at the heart of complex migrations — identifying and resolving defects, supporting root cause analysis, and ensuring readiness for go‑live. Requirements

You will be handling the following responsibilities

• Test planning: Design, build, and maintain test plans, scripts, and cases across migration cycles (mock runs, SIT, UAT, cutover).
• Data validation: Perform reconciliation checks between source and target systems using mapping specifications.
• SQL testing: Write queries to compare record counts, field values, and financial totals across systems.
• Defect management: Log, track, and resolve data defects using tools like Azure DevOps.
• Root cause analysis: Collaborate with engineers and ETL teams to investigate and resolve issues.
• Regression testing: Confirm fixes and ensure no new issues are introduced.
• Financial integrity: Check for duplicates, missing values, incorrect mappings, and broken relationships.
• Documentation: Maintain clear records of test evidence, sign‑offs, and defect logs.
• Reporting: Highlight risks, blockers, and readiness for go/no‑go decisions.
• Cutover support: Participate in go‑live activities and post‑migration checks.
• Stakeholder alignment: Work with UK‑based stakeholders to align priorities and timelines.

Apply if you have

• SQL expertise: Ability to write queries for data extraction, joins, filtering, and aggregation.
• Data testing techniques: Experience with reconciliation, sampling, field‑level comparisons, and count checks.
• Tool proficiency: Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, TestRail).
• Advanced Excel: Skilled in XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas for reconciliation and reporting.
• ETL exposure: Understanding of ETL processes and data migration methodology is a strong plus.
• Finance knowledge: Basic to intermediate grasp of GL, Chart of Accounts, Trial Balance, AP/AR, and Fixed Assets.
• ERP familiarity: Prior exposure to SAP, Oracle Financials, Workday Financials, or similar systems.
• Project experience: Background in testing data for finance transformations, ERP implementations, or migration projects.
• Attention to detail: Methodical approach with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Communication skills: Clear written and verbal communication for defect reporting and stakeholder updates.
• Collaboration: Comfortable working with UK‑based stakeholders across time zones.
• Resilience: Ability to manage competing priorities during test cycles and cutover periods.
• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field; 1–4 years of experience in data testing/QA; offshore/onshore delivery model exposure preferred.
