Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for clients, ensuring compliance with U.S. tax regulations
- Review financial statements and documents to identify potential tax savings and compliance issues
- Maintain thorough, organized records to ensure audit readiness
- Communicate with clients effectively through email to collect necessary documentation and address inquiries
- Utilize Canopy CRM to manage client tasks and streamline workflow
- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and improve processes
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure accurate client advice and services
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in U.S. tax preparation and accounting
Active CPA or EA designation
In-depth understanding of federal and state tax laws - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in tax preparation
- Excellent written communication skills for professional client interactions
- Experience with Canopy CRM or similar tax software tools
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with a team
- Well-organized with the capacity to manage multiple clients and meet tight deadlines
Bonus If You:
- Have specific experience with Canopy CRM in managing client projects
- Are adept at handling the tax needs of startups or small business clients
- Possess knowledge of tax strategies and planning for various industries
