Technical Program Manager (TPM III)
itD is seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM III) to drive hardware development programs for next-generation wearable devices, including smart glasses. This role will play a critical part in coordinating engineering design efforts, managing hardware component delivery, and ensuring development milestones are met to support successful product launches. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in hardware engineering and technical program management, along with a proven track record of delivering complex consumer electronics programs on schedule.
Location: Remote (West Coast hours preferred)
Duration: 12 Months (potential for extension)

Responsibilities
- Lead coordination of engineering design deliverables, including specifications, design of experiments (DOE), and validation plans
- Manage hardware component delivery timelines for development builds and drive qualification processes toward mass production
- Develop and maintain detailed program schedules aligned with system requirements, technical risks, and business priorities
- Oversee program structure and workflows to ensure clarity, efficiency, and alignment across teams and leadership
- Communicate program status updates, risks, and mitigation plans, including vendor tooling timelines and design sprint progress
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of program milestones
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program documentation for stakeholder visibility and decision-making
Internal Responsibilities
- Attend regular internal practice community meetings
- Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership
- Complete client case studies and learning materials (blogs, media material)
- Contribute to Digital Transformation practice development initiatives
- Participate in internal networking events (virtual and in-person)
- Partner with leadership on career development opportunities
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of experience in hardware engineering or technical program management within consumer electronics
- Strong experience managing cross-functional teams across engineering, supply chain, and external partners
- Proven ability to manage complex hardware development programs and deliver on timelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Solid understanding of product development lifecycle and hardware design/fabrication processes
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working with global suppliers and vendor management
- Background working with leading technology companies such as Meta, Amazon, Apple, or Microsoft
- Prior experience transitioning from engineering into program management roles
- Experience supporting wearable technology or similar hardware product categories
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required
