We work directly with different industries including Automotive, Energy, Aeronautics, Banking & Insurance, Telecom & Multimedia, and Rail; offering services ranging from project design development to test/validation, programming, implementation, and manufacturing.
ALTEN Mexico as a subsidiary of the ALTEN Group. Currently working with international clients, and we are looking for a Plastics Engineer who will contribute to the development of an Iron Air Battery, a large-scale energy storage solution, as a plastic component and tooling cost-optimization specialist.

Key Responsibilities
- Review custom plastic components and identify lower-cost materials, geometry, tooling, and manufacturing methods.
- Develop rotomolded or thermoformed scrubber-vessel concepts with integrated features.
- Drive supplier DFM reviews and incorporate feasible recommendations into CAD and drawings.
- Evaluate tooling simplification, part consolidation, assembly reduction, quality risk, and validation needs.
- Support nonconformance analysis for injection-molded components.
Requirements
Must‑Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of plastics product development, process engineering, tooling, or supplier engineering experience.
- Experience with injection molding plus at least one of rotomolding or thermoforming preferred.
- Experience with polymer material selection, tooling, and supplier DFM.
- Experience in part consolidation, wall-thickness control, draft, ribs, bosses, undercuts, shrinkage, warpage, and tolerance design
- Working knowledge of plastic part design, tooling economics, DFM, GD&T, and supplier qualification.
- English level B2–C1.
