Are you ready to make a lasting impact on literacy?

At Really Great Reading, we are building a bright, diverse, and passionate team dedicated to leading the industry in improving literacy scores nationwide. With nearly two decades of leadership bringing the Science of Reading to thousands of schools, we design innovative products, training, and materials that transform how educators teach and how students learn. Here, we empower our team with the tools, support, and professional growth opportunities they need to thrive in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment—where your work truly makes a difference.

Why This Role Matters

Behind every successful marketing campaign is an operation that makes sure the right message reaches the right audience at the right time, and that we can measure what happens next. At Really Great Reading, our marketing team supports product launches, state-specific campaigns, customer communications, and sales enablement, all powered by the same core systems: HubSpot, email, automation, and reporting.

When those systems work well, campaigns launch on schedule, teams have reliable data, and we can see what's working and where we need to adjust. The Marketing Operations Manager owns that reliability, turning campaign plans into working builds and keeping our marketing systems healthy as we grow.

Success in this role means campaigns launch accurately and on time, HubSpot and our marketing data remain reliable, email performance stays healthy, and our teams have the reporting and automation they need to make informed decisions and work more efficiently.

The Role

The Marketing Operations Manager is the technical and operational partner responsible for the systems, processes, and execution that keep RGR’s marketing programs running effectively.

You’ll own HubSpot administration, email health, and technical campaign execution across product launches, priority-state campaigns, lifecycle and customer communications, and sales enablement. Working closely with Product Marketing, Growth, Content, and Sales, you’ll translate campaign requirements into reliable builds, automation, and reporting. Strategy owners define what a campaign needs to accomplish; you determine how to build it well and make sure it runs.

The ideal candidate can move comfortably between marketing strategy and technical execution: equally capable of translating campaign goals into effective HubSpot builds, troubleshooting systems and data when something isn’t working, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to keep campaigns moving and measurable.

What You’ll Do

  • HubSpot administration. Own HubSpot configuration, properties, lists, user permissions, data hygiene, and marketing integrations.
  • Email health and deliverability. Monitor sender reputation, email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and list hygiene, and resolve deliverability issues before they affect campaigns.
  • Consent and compliance. Maintain subscription types, consent workflows, and opt-out handling in line with applicable email and privacy regulations.
  • Lifecycle and sequence builds. Build nurture, lifecycle, customer communication, and sales sequence templates in HubSpot from briefs provided by Product Marketing and campaign owners.
  • Technical campaign execution. Build emails, forms, workflows, and landing page components, and run QA so campaigns launch on schedule.
  • Reporting implementation. Build dashboards and reports to Growth requirements, and keep campaign and attribution data clean and consistent.
  • Build intake and process. Maintain campaign build templates, intake, and QA checklists, so requests arrive complete and ship predictably.
  • Automation and efficiency. Implement automation and AI-assisted workflows that reduce manual campaign, operational, and reporting work.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in marketing operations, HubSpot administration, or lifecycle marketing
  • Hands-on HubSpot experience with workflows, lists, properties, forms, and email
  • Working knowledge of email deliverability and authentication
  • Experience building automated nurture or lifecycle programs
  • Reporting and attribution literacy, including building dashboards and troubleshooting data issues
  • Strong QA habits and the ability to manage several campaign builds at once
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-technical partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • HubSpot certifications, such as Marketing Hub or Operations Hub
  • Experience with consent management and email and privacy regulations
  • Experience with integration or automation tools such as Zapier or Make, or with AI-assisted workflows
  • Basic HTML and CSS for email and landing page troubleshooting
  • K–12 education, EdTech, or B2B experience with long sales cycles

What We Offer

We take care of the whole person, because we believe that when our team thrives, so do the students and educators we serve. Our benefits include:

  • Competitive 401(k) with company matching
  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Paid Time Off to support rest, renewal, and life outside of work
  • Employee Discount Program and partner savings
  • Ongoing professional development and learning investment
  • Wellness initiatives designed to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being
  • Evolving benefits shaped by team member voice and values

Physical Requirements

This is a fully remote role. Team members work primarily at a computer and regularly engage in video conferencing, document review, and digital collaboration. You must be able to work at a screen for extended periods, use standard input devices, and participate in virtual meetings.
