Role Overview

The Group Accountant manages the end-to-end accounting for Chaos’s Holding and Management entities and serves as Global Process Owner (GPO) for group consolidation. The role works closely with finance colleagues across the global business, combining technical accounting rigour with a process-improvement mindset so the business can move fast and operate at scale. This role requires an accountant with strong German GAAP and IFRS consolidation experience in an international group.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the full accounting cycle for Chaos’s Holding and Management entities, including general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, and monthly, quarterly and annual close, in line with German GAAP and group reporting requirements.

  • Manage the group-wide month-end and year-end closes, ensuring consolidated financial statements comply with IFRS.

  • Prepare the consolidated financial statements in LucaNet, maintaining data integrity throughout.

  • Set and maintain global consolidation standards, working with teams across the international entities to align workflows, close process gaps, and automate processes in NetSuite and connected finance tools.

  • Act as the main contact for external auditors, tax advisors and statutory filings.

  • Coordinate local treasury activities and payment cycles with the group finance team.

  • Identify efficiencies in finance processes and propose better ways of working, supporting the Accounting Director in building a culture of optimisation.

Required Experience

  • 5 years of experience in financial accounting within an international corporate environment, ideally in a technology, software or SaaS business.

  • Experience with German statutory requirements and German GAAP.

  • Experience with international group consolidation and IFRS.

  • Experience driving process improvement projects across finance.

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP, and familiarity with finance tooling in a software product environment.

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or a comparable field.

  • Knowledge of LucaNet as a consolidation tool is an advantage.

  • A professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA) is an advantage and is not required when offset by strong practical experience.

Required Skills

  • Applies advanced German GAAP and local statutory reporting knowledge, and strong IFRS and group consolidation knowledge.

  • Works confidently across multicultural, multi-timezone teams.

  • Steps back from operational tasks to spot inefficiencies and builds scalable solutions that work across the group.

  • Fluent English and German, written and spoken, are required. Additional languages are an advantage.
