ABOUT THRIVE MARKET
THE ROLE
You'll join Thrive Market's Product Design team as a Staff Designer embedded in the Discovery Pod, owning search and browse end to end. You'll work alongside the existing design team, bringing strategic clarity to each initiative you own rather than just executing what's in front of you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own information architecture and taxonomy decisions for search and browse, including category structure, filtering and faceting logic, and sort and ranking behavior.
- Design for search relevance, including zero and low result states.
- Partner with data and ML teams on search ranking and personalization signals, translating model behavior into a coherent, explainable member experience.
- Lead end-to-end design efforts across key initiatives, from discovery through execution.
- Collaborate with product designers, product managers, engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to design intuitive and trustworthy member experiences.
- Align with Product Managers and Engineers on goals, constraints, and feasibility.
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design across products.
- Contribute to and evolve the design system, collaborating with the design system owner as needed, to keep it consistent and scalable.
- Mentor other designers with feedback and guidance that supports the whole team.
- Design filter and facet UX that scales as catalog size and attribute complexity grow
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of product design or UX/UI experience, with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end initiatives at a senior to staff level.
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong user-centered design, interaction design, and visual design skills.
- Hands-on expertise in Figma and other industry standard design tools.
- Experience applying user research methods and A/B testing to inform data driven design decisions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate design rationale to cross-functional partners.
- P5 Background working in e-commerce, subscription-based businesses, or consumer-facing digital products.
