Position Overview:
Thrive is looking for a ServiceNow Developer to build and maintain the integrations and automation behind our managed services platform. You'll connect ServiceNow to the partner, RMM and data systems we depend on, automate manual workflows, and write SQL against Snowflake to move and check the data behind our reporting and our Client Portal. You'll work closely with product, DevOps and service delivery teams. The work runs from design through production support.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain two-way integrations between ServiceNow and outside systems using REST and SOAP APIs, Scripted REST APIs and MID Server where needed.
- Write and maintain server-side logic: Business Rules, Script Includes, Scheduled Jobs, Transform Maps and Import Sets.
- Build automation with Flow Designer, subflows, actions and Workflow to cut manual work in ITSM and service delivery.
- Write, tune and troubleshoot SQL queries in Snowflake to extract, transform, reconcile and check data flowing into and out of ServiceNow.
- Build and support data pipelines between Snowflake and ServiceNow, such as device, asset or ticket data synchronization and deduplication.
- Put ACLs, roles and data security controls in place, following least-privilege principles.
- Troubleshoot integration failures, sync gaps and performance problems in production, and find the root cause.
- Take part in code reviews, manage update sets and follow release processes from development through test to production.
- Document integration designs, data mappings, runbooks and technical decisions.
- Work with stakeholders to turn business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
- Strong JavaScript skills, including ServiceNow's server-side scripting environment (GlideRecord, GlideAjax, GlideSystem and ES5 constraints).
- Proven experience building ServiceNow integrations with REST APIs, including authentication (OAuth 2.0, Basic, API keys), JSON parsing and error handling.
- Working SQL knowledge: joins, aggregations, CTEs, filtering and basic query optimization.
- Experience with Flow Designer and ServiceNow automation tools.
- Understanding of the ServiceNow data model, ACLs and role-based security.
- Familiarity with update sets, instance cloning and multi-instance development lifecycles.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working through problems that span more than one system.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake: querying, views, stages, or tasks and streams.
- Experience in an MSP or IT services environment, or with RMM/PSA tools such as NinjaOne or ConnectWise.
- Familiarity with CMDB, IRE (Identification and Reconciliation Engine) or data deduplication strategies.
- Exposure to ServiceNow ITSM, CSM or Service Portal development.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines or Azure DevOps.
- Some background in Python or other scripting languages for data work.
- ServiceNow certifications: Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD) preferred; Implementation Specialist is a plus.
