About the role
We're looking for a technical, detail-oriented Senior Fund Accountant to join our Alternative Operations team. You'll be the primary owner of the Net Asset Value (NAV) for our private market vehicles — not just reporting on it, but acting as the bridge between our external fund administrators and our internal product and investment teams. Our Alternative offerings, ranging from Private Credit to Private Equity funds, need to be accounted for with institutional-grade precision, and that precision starts with you.
About the team
Fund Operations is the team that keeps our Alternative Investment Funds products running accurately and at scale. We own the operational functions behind private credit, private equity, private markets, venture, and infrastructure fund structures, including NAV oversight, capital activity, and financial reporting. We're a small, high-ownership team that works closely with Legal, Compliance, Investment Research, and external Fund Administrators, GPs, Custodians, and Auditors to build institutional-grade processes as our alternatives platform grows.
What you'll do:
Join the Fund Operations team, and work directly with our Manager and other Fund Operations Associates to execute on daily fund accounting and capital activity processes
Own NAV-related tasks including expense reviews, P&L verification, and cash and position reconciliations, to keep our funds' NAVs accurate and defensible
Process capital activity for alternative funds, including subscriptions, redemptions, distributions, and capital calls, ensuring every transaction runs with precision
Handle in-kind and mutual fund transfer transactions within Fundserv, acting as a subject matter expert on Fundserv from a fund manufacturing and dealer perspective
Collaborate with Asset Management, Compliance, Product, Trading, and Engineering to ensure the accuracy of client records and flag operational issues before they become client-facing problems
Respond to client inquiries and prepare ad-hoc reports that give clients clarity on their portfolios
Coordinate with auditors during the annual audit process and help prepare audit workpapers
Use data to identify inefficiencies in our processes and propose solutions, leveraging AI where it helps us move faster without sacrificing accuracy
Maintain and update process documentation as our operations scale
What you bring:
1-2 years of experience at a fund management or fund administration company, with exposure to NAV calculations, tax and audit preparation, and settlement of orders, distributions, redemptions, and capital calls
Experience through a full fund accounting cycle, including trade execution, positions, bank reconciliations, audit support, and journal entries
Strong Excel skills, with SQL or other programming experience considered a plus, along with progress toward or completion of an industry designation (CPA, CFA, CAIA, CSC) also a plus
Strong business judgment, comfort working with large datasets under tight deadlines, and a genuine curiosity about fintech and alternative investments
