The listing
Intuition Machines uses AI/ML to build enterprise security products used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. You are probably familiar with our best-known product, the hCaptcha security suite. Our approach is simple: high agency, small teams, and rapid iteration.
As SOC Manager, Bot Management & Fraud Prevention - APAC, you will report to the Director, Global SOC and take ownership of establishing and scaling our Security Operations presence in the APAC region.
This is a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of Security Operations, bot management, and fraud prevention. You will build a regional capability that complements our global SOC, combining strong people leadership with technical judgment and close collaboration across Security, Engineering, Machine Learning, Product, Customer Success, and Technical Support. Please note that all of our managers develop and practice the same skills as their reports: we do not employ non-technical managers.
What you will do:
- Build and develop the APAC SOC team, including hiring, onboarding, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
- Lead APAC Security Operations across bot activity, automated abuse, fraud, web/API attacks, and complex incident investigations.
- Establish and continuously improve investigation methodologies, playbooks, escalation paths, quality standards, and operational KPIs.
- Ensure investigations produce clear, actionable findings and appropriate mitigation, detection, product, or customer recommendations.
- Partner with technical and customer-facing teams to improve detection, response, and prevention capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to automate investigative and operational workflows.
- Maintain effective regional coverage and contribute to consistent global SOC operating standards while keeping the team current on emerging bot, fraud, and security threats.
What we are looking for:
- 6+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, Security Operations, fraud prevention, trust & safety, abuse prevention, or a closely related field.
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing technical teams, ideally within SOC, incident response, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, or trust & safety.
- Proven experience hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and developing technical professionals.
- Strong understanding of Security Operations, incident investigation, threat analysis, escalation management, and operational processes.
- Practical knowledge of web and API security, including HTTP, WAFs, authentication abuse, OWASP-related vulnerabilities, rate limiting, and attack mitigation.
- Understanding of bot management and automated abuse mitigation strategies.
- Understanding of payment fraud prevention and detection strategies.
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with hands-on familiarity with SQL and large datasets.
- Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Machine Learning, Product, Support, and customer-facing teams.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability over ego: lead with expertise, curiosity, and humility; welcome challenge, give and receive direct feedback, and prioritize the best outcome over being right.
Nice to Have:
- Experience building a new SOC, fraud operations, threat detection, or abuse-prevention function.
- Hands-on experience with bot detection, fingerprinting, credential stuffing, scraping, account takeover, fraud rings, payment fraud, or identity fraud.
- Experience with WAF or bot-management platforms and related detection or mitigation controls.
- Familiarity with Python, security automation, AI/LLM-based tooling, analytics, or cloud-native environments.
- Professional certifications or advanced training from SANS/GIAC in areas such as Cyber Defense, Digital Forensics and Incident Response, or equivalent practical expertise.
What we offer:
- Fully remote position with flexible working hours.
- The opportunity to work on bot management, fraud prevention, behavioral analysis, fingerprinting, and large-scale web traffic investigations.
- Direct exposure to AI/ML-based security and abuse detection systems operating at internet scale.
- An inspiring, globally distributed team and meaningful impact on systems used by hundreds of millions of people.
We celebrate equality of opportunity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members. Join us as we transform cybersecurity online.
Please note that all positions require pre-employment screening, including third-party verification of work history, education, and identity, as well as a final in-person interview and identity verification step, which will be conducted in your country of residence.
