About the Role

OpenSesame's AI Innovation Lab runs short incubation cycles that turn product hypotheses into deployed software and real customer evidence. As an AI Product Builder Intern, you'll work alongside the lab team using AI coding tools and agents to build, test, and learn fast.

This is a flexible, part-time, on-site role based in Austin, Texas: 10–20 hours per week, set around your schedule.

Performance Objectives

First 30 days

  • Ship one working feature or tool using AI coding tools, deployed and in use by the lab team.
  • Run your first user test on Mechanical Turk, UserTesting.com, or equivalent, and present what you learned.

By the end of your internship

  • Contribute to at least two full incubation cycles—building, testing, and synthesizing results for kill-gate reviews.
  • Build and maintain one AI agent that takes a recurring task off the team, such as feedback synthesis or test scripting.
  • Deliver one improvement to the lab's code factory or process, with a short writeup of the before and after.

What Success Looks Like

You ship real software that real users touch, and your work shows up in the evidence that drives go/pivot/kill decisions. The team relies on what you built after you leave.

Details:

  • Hours: 10–20 per week, flexible.

  • Compensation: $25 per hour, with the opportunity to accrue paid time off.

  • Location: On-site at our office in Austin Center, Austin, Texas. This role is not remote.

How to apply:

Skip the résumé bullets. When you apply, upload one or two examples of something you built with AI, and what you learned building it.
