About HireHawk
HireHawk connects skilled professionals with US companies for long-term remote roles. We are looking for proactive people who take ownership of their work and want to grow with a stable team.
About the role:
Our client is an established plaintiff personal injury firm in Los Angeles that focuses on premises liability cases (slip-and-fall and trip-and-fall). Its case managers are senior people, with 4 to 10 years at the firm. Each one runs their cases with the help of assistants, so the case manager can stay focused on working up the case.
You will be the dedicated assistant to one of these case managers. You will take on the scheduling, follow-ups and file work that keep each case moving, and the case manager will direct your daily priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule client medical appointments and keep treatment calendars up to date.
- Request medical records and bills, and follow up with providers until they arrive.
- Keep case files organized and current in the firm's case management software.
- Track deadlines and outstanding items, and flag anything at risk to the case manager.
- Communicate with clients, medical providers and insurance representatives to collect missing information.
- Prepare correspondence, forms and simple status updates.
- Protect client confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
Must-Have:
- At least 2 years supporting case managers at a US personal injury law firm.
- Hands-on experience scheduling medical appointments and requesting medical records and bills.
- Strong written and spoken English.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with reliable follow-through across many active cases.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and a legal case management platform.
- Full-time availability during US Pacific business hours, with reliable internet and a dedicated workspace.
Nice-to-Have:
- Premises liability (slip-and-fall or trip-and-fall) case experience.
- Experience working through remote desktop access to a firm's systems.
