What We're Researching
We're running a paid study evaluating how accurately ICD-10 diagnosis codes and eye laterality can be extracted from clinical documentation. This work helps improve automated clinical coding systems by ensuring that extracted codes are fully supported by the underlying narrative text. Your expertise will provide the clinical verification needed to measure extraction quality.
How It Works
You will work remotely to review a series of de-identified eye care clinical notes. For each note, you will evaluate whether the provided ICD-10 codes and eye laterality match the clinical evidence found in the text. You will flag discrepancies, missing information, or unsupported code assignments directly in our review platform. The project is fully asynchronous and runs from October 28 to November 2.
Who This Is For
We are looking for professionals with deep experience in ophthalmology or optometry clinical documentation. We welcome certified medical coders specializing in eye care, practicing optometrists, ophthalmologists, and clinical documentation improvement specialists. Ideal candidates have a strong working knowledge of ICD-10 guidelines specifically regarding eye laterality and complex ocular diagnoses.
What You'll Do
Read and interpret de-identified eye care clinical notes
Evaluate extracted ICD-10 diagnosis codes for clinical accuracy
Verify that eye laterality is correctly captured based on the text
Identify and flag unsupported or missing diagnostic codes
Who Should Apply
Professional experience in eye care clinical documentation or medical coding
Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis coding guidelines
Familiarity with optometry or ophthalmology terminology
Availability to complete asynchronous review tasks between October 28 and November 2
Compensation
$200 per hour
