Turn your creativity into paid work!
Kaya by Chemin is looking for creative contributors to make original infographics for an AI data collection project.
If you enjoy creating visual content and have some experience with infographic design, this is a chance to put your skills to work and earn from your creativity. Students and early-stage creatives are welcome. You don’t need to be a professional designer!
What you’ll do
- Create original infographics on any topic, in any language.
- Design in Figma or Adobe Illustrator.
- Submit your designs as SVG files with the correct element structure (see the file requirements below).
- Create new infographics, or submit your own past work once it’s cleaned up (see “Using your past work”).
File requirements
- SVG format only, under 5 MB per file.
- Keep text as real, editable text. Don’t outline, flatten or convert it to paths.
- Keep layers clean, with text, shapes and vectors kept separate.
- No embedded images (PNG/JPG). Recreate any visuals as vectors.
Content requirements
- Use real, meaningful content: data and stats, step-by-step guides, comparisons, lists, mind maps, pillars and similar formats.
- Each design should be complete, with one clear message.
- Avoid the following:
- Simple labelling designs (a single object with labels pointing to it)
- Basic, easy templates
- Very heavy or overly complex designs
- Mostly empty layouts
- Duplicates
Design guidelines
- Create your designs in Figma or Adobe Illustrator. Do not use Canva, Photoshop, Procreate or similar tools.
- Keep all text editable. Do not outline or flatten text.
- Organise layers clearly, keeping text, shapes and vectors separate.
- Use vector visuals only. Do not embed raster images or save PNG/JPG files as SVGs.
- Ensure each design is complete and communicates one clear message.
- Use meaningful placeholders such as “Company X” or “Dr. ABC”. Avoid filler text and real names, phone numbers, emails or addresses.
- Use Google Fonts or fonts you hold a valid licence for.
- Submit a variety of topics, layouts and styles. Avoid repeating the same design with only the wording changed.
- Themed series are welcome, provided each design is meaningfully different.
- Designs in your native language or featuring local topics are encouraged.
- Do not include brands, logos, watermarks or copyrighted characters.
- Submit only original work that you created and own.
Templates and AI
You may use templates or AI for inspiration only. The final design must be your own work, changed enough that it is clearly original and human-made.
- AI-generated images and layouts are not allowed in the final file.
- Files that look like untouched templates or AI output are likely to be rejected and will not be paid.
Using your past work
You can submit infographics you made before, as long as you created them and still own the rights. If a past client owns the artwork, don’t submit it.
Before Uploading
- Replace real company names with “Company X”.
- Replace real person names, such as “Dr. James Tan”, with “Dr. ABC”.
- Remove client logos and branding, or replace them with generic shapes.
- Remove copyrighted characters, or replace them with original characters.
- Remove all phone numbers, email addresses and physical addresses.
