Role Overview
EverPure is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Operations Engineering to lead regional engineering execution across APAC. This role serves as a critical bridge between product development, suppliers, and manufacturing partners, ensuring successful new product introduction (NPI), supplier quality performance, and manufacturing excellence.
The successful candidate will lead distributed engineering teams across the United States, Malaysia, and Vietnam, while acting as the primary Operations Engineering interface with Hsinchu-based teams during NPI phases.
The role will have to be based in our partner location in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regional Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and scale a geographically distributed team of Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE), Manufacturing Quality Engineers (MQE), and Component Engineers across the United States, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Build organizational capability to support evolving business and operational needs across APAC.
2. NPI & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the primary Operations Engineering interface in Hsinchu, Taiwan for all NPI programs.
- Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders, including R&D, Product Engineering, and Program Management, to ensure seamless product introduction and ramp.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) initiatives, ensuring early risk identification and mitigation.
3. Supplier Quality & Component Engineering
- Own end-to-end supplier quality management, including supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish and enforce robust component engineering practices, including:
- Component selection and validation
- Lifecycle management
- Risk mitigation strategies (e.g., second sourcing, obsolescence planning)
- Lead supplier audits, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and yield improvement initiatives.
4. Manufacturing Quality & Operations Excellence
- Oversee manufacturing quality performance across APAC DFM sites.
- Drive key quality and operational metrics, including:
- Yield improvement
- Failure analysis and root cause resolution
- Process capability and control (e.g., Cp, Cpk)
- Implement scalable quality systems, processes, and performance metrics (e.g., FPY, DPPM).
5. Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary liaison between:
- Hsinchu-based Engineering and NPI teams
- Contract manufacturers and suppliers
- Global Operations and Business leadership
- Provide clear and concise communication on program status, risks, mitigation plans, and readiness to senior leadership.
6. Continuous Improvement & Strategy
- Define and execute the APAC Operations Engineering strategy in alignment with global organizational objectives.
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies to drive operational excellence.
- Identify and implement opportunities to optimize cost, quality, and cycle time across the supply chain.
Qualifications
Experience
- 10–15+ years of experience in Operations Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Supplier Quality within the electronics, hardware, or data center industry.
- Proven track record of managing regional or global engineering teams.
- Demonstrated success in NPI execution and manufacturing ramp within APAC.
Technical Expertise
- Strong domain expertise in:
- Supplier Quality and Supplier Development
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT)
- Manufacturing processes (e.g., PCBA, system integration)
- Experience working with contract manufacturing models, including EMS, JDM, and ODM.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams across multiple regions and cultures.
- Strong executive presence with effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with Taiwan-based engineering and manufacturing ecosystems is highly preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related discipline)
