Full-Stack Web Developer (Security + OCR)
- About the role:
- We are looking for a developer who can take prototypes to a secure, scalable, production-ready product along side maintenance, bug fixes, & feature additions post launch.
- Current stack:
- React & Node.js on Vercel + Supabase
- Core work:
- Audit & lock down security — this is the #1 priority.
- Build an OCR pipeline that extracts structured data from images/documents into a secure database
- Refactor existing prototype for scale and reliability without unnecessary rewrites
- Must have:
- 3+ years shipping production React + Node.js applications
- A portfolio of shipped web apps — share links and a short note on your role and what you built
- Real security experience — auth (OAuth2/JWT), input validation, rate limiting, secrets/env hygiene, encryption at rest & in transit, OWASP Top 10 awareness, and genuinely understanding how apps get breached
- Hands-on OCR / document data-extraction experience (Preferably experience with tesseract)
- Strong backend fundamentals — API design, PostgreSQL data modeling, async job processing
- Scaling fundamentals — caching (Redis), queueing, horizontal scaling
- Comfortable on Vercel + Railway and modern CI/CD
- Strong English, written and verb
- Nice to have:
- Security audit / pentest awareness
- Infrastructure-as-code, monitoring and observability
- Experience migrating off PaaS toward more scalable infra when warranted
