The company operates with a lean team and is looking for an experienced Estimator who understands that successful estimating goes beyond performing takeoffs. The right candidate must be comfortable working with real supplier pricing, Florida-specific construction requirements, building codes, and permit processes.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Construction Estimator with strong hands-on experience estimating Florida-based construction projects.
You will be responsible for performing detailed takeoffs, preparing bids and cost estimates, sourcing current supplier pricing, coordinating RFQs, and supporting preconstruction activities.
This role is ideal for someone who can take a set of plans and specifications, understand the scope, perform accurate takeoffs, and turn them into a realistic, market-based dollar estimate.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs from construction plans, drawings, and specifications
Review project documents to understand scope, materials, labor requirements, and specifications
Prepare detailed and competitive bids and cost estimates
Source and validate real supplier pricing for materials and project requirements
Convert takeoff quantities into accurate dollar estimates
Prepare and manage RFQ (Request for Quote) submissions
Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
Coordinate with subcontractors regarding scope, pricing, and project requirements
Review supplier and subcontractor quotes for completeness and accuracy
Handle estimate revisions and pricing updates
Support general preconstruction activities
Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation
Use construction management and estimating software on a daily basis
Apply knowledge of Florida building codes, permitting requirements, and construction practices when developing estimates
Support successful and timely bid submissions
Required Qualifications
5+ years of construction estimating experience preferred
Proven experience working on Florida-based construction projects
Strong understanding of Florida building codes and local construction requirements
Familiarity with Florida's permit processes and code-compliant construction
Proven ability to perform detailed takeoffs and convert them into accurate cost estimates
Strong understanding of real-world supplier pricing and construction cost structures
Experience obtaining pricing directly from suppliers and subcontractors
Strong understanding of construction materials, labor, and project costs
Fluent English, both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and estimating accuracy
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Strong communication and follow-up skills

Non-Negotiables
Florida construction experience is required
Strong knowledge of Florida building codes and permit requirements
Ability to source real supplier pricing
Ability to accurately convert takeoffs into detailed dollar estimates
Fluent English communication
Strong hands-on construction estimating experience
Ability to work 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time
Must be available to start mid to late September 2026
