Job Role: Senior Credit Analyst
Compensation range: $1,800 AUD - $2,500 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 6 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who The Client Is: We are an Australian finance services firm helping individuals, investors, self-employed professionals, and business owners with their lending needs, including home purchases, refinancing, and business finance. We take a professional, client-first approach, taking the time to understand each client’s unique circumstances, needs, and goals to provide practical and tailored finance solutions.
Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Credit Analyst with strong Australian mortgage and commercial lending experience. The role will support the Mortgage Broker and Loan Processor in assessing and progressing applications, working with clients and lenders, and identifying suitable lending solutions.
This role requires someone who can work independently, demonstrate initiative, and contribute to improving processes for a smoother and more efficient application experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and review residential and commercial loan applications, particularly for self-employed clients and business owners.
- Research lenders and review credit policies to identify suitable funding solutions.
- Prepare credit papers and lending scenarios for commercial and NCCP-compliant lending.
- Complete serviceability calculations and review financials.
- Manage commercial applications including SMSF, Asset Finance, Commercial Property Purchases, Trade Finance, and Business Purchases.
- Prepare information and respond to requests from third parties, such as accountants.
- Communicate confidently with clients and banks by phone to confirm details and requirements.
- Support the Loan Processor to achieve smooth applications and positive client outcomes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Take ownership of tasks, apply logical thinking, and develop solutions without requiring close supervision.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Credit Analyst experience, including at least 2 years in commercial lending.
- Hands-on experience with SMSF, Asset Finance, Commercial Property, Trade Finance, and/or Business Purchases.
- Experience working for an Australian mortgage broking firm.
- Strong understanding of Australian lending processes and lender credit policies.
- Fluent spoken English and excellent written English.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proven initiative and ability to solve problems independently.
- Confident in communicating with clients and banks by phone.
- Positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
- Comfortable working with a smaller team and in a WFH environment.
- Demonstrated interest in driving process improvements and achieving better client outcomes.
