Job Title: Finance Coordinator

Location: South Africa

Job Type: Full-Time, Remote

Working Hours: US Hours (9am-5pm EST)

Salary: South African Rand (ZAR)

Our client is seeking a highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented Finance Coordinator to support the financial and administrative operations of a growing organisation that operates approximately 15 skilled nursing facilities across New York.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and is confident managing multiple priorities independently.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating financial and administrative activities relating to patient accounts, insurance administration, billing, payment collections, and communication with families and external agencies.

While experience within healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, or medical administration would be highly advantageous, we are primarily looking for a highly capable and resourceful individual with strong coordination, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

This role also offers excellent long-term growth potential, with the opportunity to develop into a more senior Finance Coordinator position and potentially provide Executive Assistant-style support to senior leadership as the organisation continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate financial and administrative activities across approximately 15 skilled nursing facilities.
  • Support the management of patient accounts, billing, insurance administration, payment collections, and outstanding balances.
  • Liaise professionally with families, internal departments, insurance providers, Social Security, Medicaid, and other relevant external agencies.
  • Manage multiple active cases, tasks, and projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Research, investigate, and independently resolve complex financial and administrative issues.
  • Track outstanding matters and proactively follow up to ensure they are driven through to completion.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant documentation, recognising when even minor errors may have significant financial or regulatory implications.
  • Provide regular updates on progress and escalate issues appropriately when required.
  • Assist with process improvements and support broader finance and administrative initiatives.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and provide additional coordination and administrative support as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in finance coordination, healthcare administration, medical administration, patient coordination, project coordination, or a similar administrative role.
  • Experience within healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, social care, medical billing, insurance, finance, or patient administration would be highly advantageous.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, cases, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of tasks from start to finish.
  • Strong administrative and coordination skills, with the ability to keep complex processes organised and on track.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong follow-up skills and the ability to proactively manage outstanding tasks.
  • Comfortable learning and working across multiple healthcare and business systems.
  • Adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and accountability.
  • Fluent English with clear and professional communication skills.

Thinking of applying? Here's the inside scoop.

Let us walk you through the next steps.

Step 1 – Complete Your Application

Fill in our application form and upload your CV. This stores your profile in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and places you into our active job pipelines, making it easier for us to match you with current and future opportunities.

Step 2 – The First Look (One-Way Video Interview)

This is where your application comes to life. We review your CV and video interview to get a feel for your experience, communication style, and overall fit. If we like what we see, you're on to the next step!

Why do we ask for a video?

Because a résumé can tell us what you've done, but it can't show us you. Your video is your moment to shine, and it helps us see:

  • How you communicate and connect with people.
  • How you present yourself professionally.
  • Other opportunities you might be an even better fit for (bonus surprises!).

Think of it as your personal trailer. One great video means we can pitch you for multiple roles and get you in front of the right employers, faster.

Heads up: Some clients watch your video directly, so make it one you'd be proud to have represent you. This is your highlight reel—make it count!

Step 3 – Let's Actually Talk

A Recruitment Specialist calls to chat about your experience, your availability, what you want to earn, and the role itself. Consider it a friendly vibe check.

Step 4 – The Fine Print, Made Fun

We break down what it's like working as an independent contractor—hours, pay, contract terms, the whole deal. No surprises, no fine-print sneakiness. You'll get it all in writing.

Step 5 – Matchmaking Time

Our Talent Delivery Team plays cupid, matching you to clients where you're most likely to shine. We can't promise everyone gets picked, but we're rooting for you.

Step 6 – Showtime

Got shortlisted? We'll set up your interview, prep you like a pro, and have your back the whole way—with a Reworks teammate right there facilitating.

Step 7 – The Verdict

We chase feedback the second it lands and keep you in the loop.
