We are currently seeking an R&D Project Manager in the field of security and defense projects with a focus on Information Technologies and their applications, with experience in European funded R&D projects, who will be responsible for overseeing and managing a wide range of initiatives aimed at enhancing security, safety, and defense capabilities. This individual should also be fluent in English and willing to serve as an expert in Athens, Greece. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a high-performing team comprised of diverse experts working collaboratively towards common objectives. We are searching for someone who exemplifies qualities such as responsiveness, integrity, and reliability, and possesses excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Additionally, the ability to work effectively within a team is crucial, as this role involves supporting projects funded by the European Commission and national research frameworks. Initiative, flexibility, and a strong sense of responsibility are qualities we highly value in our ideal candidate.
Main responsibilities and Tasks:
- Managing and executing projects funded by the European Commission that are centered on Information Technologies and Security/ Defense Applications. European Dynamics holds a prominent position in the field of security research in Europe and has made significant contributions within large and strategic projects;
- Crafting a comprehensive set of document deliverables and reports for R&D initiatives and business development endeavors. These documents encompass technical elements, including requirements, conceptual models, specifications, technical architectures, use cases as well as implementation and integration plans;
- Taking the lead in advancing the landscape of Security and Defense research and technology within Europe, designing and implementing novel technical solutions, particularly in pioneering concepts which adopt emerging technologies and tools, related to:
- Border Security Initiatives: Managing projects aimed at strengthening border security, including the deployment of surveillance systems, biometric identification tools, and border control infrastructure;
- Counterterrorism Operations: Coordinating projects related to counterterrorism efforts, such as intelligence gathering, threat analysis, and response strategies;
- Emergency Response and Disaster Management: Overseeing projects designed to improve disaster preparedness and response, including the development of decision-making and crises management systems;
- Military Technology Development: Overseeing projects focused on the research, development, and implementation of cutting-edge military technologies.
Requirements
- University degree in Engineering, preferably with postgraduate qualification at MSc or PhD level;
- At least 4 years’ experience in working directly with technical, IT teams with proven track record;
- At least 2 years’ experience specifically in National and European research programmes with focus on the applications of various tools and technologies of Information and Communication, Artificial Intelligence, IOT and others, robotics etc.;
- Proven Experience in software design and development;
- Experience in Security/Defense programmes, projects, and applications;
- Excellent command of English and Greek, both written and oral;
- Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment;
- Good analytical skills, as well as a proactive attitude towards solving problems;
- Experience in designing Horizon Europe proposals and coordinating or implementing relevant projects, will be considered an asset.
