About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Bookkeeping Assistant to provide reliable bookkeeping and accounting support to international clients in a fully remote environment.
This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented bilingual professional with 1–2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting assistance, or a similar role. You will support day-to-day financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, updating transactions, reconciling bank accounts, processing invoices, supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable, and assisting with payroll and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, financial documentation, and deadlines, and is committed to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality when handling financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Record, update, and organize daily financial transactions and bookkeeping records.
- Maintain accurate financial spreadsheets, accounting records, and balance sheets.
- Perform bank reconciliations and identify discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records.
- Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Process and organize invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers, and business partners regarding payments or documentation.
- Assist with monthly payroll processes and maintain organized payroll records.
- Support the preparation and organization of financial reports and accounting documentation.
- Assist with tracking costs, including fixed and variable expenses, and support tax-payment tracking.
- Review financial information for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain organized digital financial files and documentation.
- Support other bookkeeping, accounting, and finance-related administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Fluent English (C1/C2) and Spanish.
- 1–2 years of professional experience in bookkeeping, accounting assistance, or a related financial role.
- Practical experience with bank reconciliations, financial transactions, invoices, and accounting records.
- Basic understanding of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
- Experience working with spreadsheets and financial data.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage recurring tasks, deadlines, and confidential financial information.
- Ability to work independently and reliably in a fully remote environment.
- Quiet home office, stable internet connection (≥10 Mbps download / 2 Mbps upload), and backup internet connection.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
