About Alpaca Health
Alpaca Health is the operating system for ABA therapy practices: billing/RCM, scheduling, AI clinical documentation, payroll, intake, and referral routing. We help top ABA practices grow, and we're building the tools and the playbook to help them expand into physical, center-based care.
About the role
We're looking for a consultant who has personally opened and scaled center-based ABA clinics. You'll partner directly with our founding team to build Alpaca's clinic-expansion playbook: how a practice goes from home-based to a thriving physical center, covering site selection, build-out, licensing, credentialing, equipment, staffing ramp, and utilization. Early on you'll advise us as we design the program and product; over time you'll help our provider partners stand up their own clinics.
This is a part-time, hourly (1099) engagement, roughly 5–10 hours/week, remote.
What you'll do
Help build Alpaca's end-to-end "how to open an ABA center" playbook.
Advise on market/site selection, lease/LOI and tenant-improvement build-out, and ABA-appropriate floor-plan and room design (including sensory-friendly environments).
Guide payer credentialing/enrollment and licensing for new locations.
Advise on equipment and vendor selection (security, cameras, access control) and how Alpaca can standardize and finance it.
Pressure-test our site-intelligence and in-clinic product ideas.
Advise on staffing ramp, room utilization, and center-based unit economics, steering us clear of the classic failure modes (expansion outrunning BCBA/RBT hiring; fixed costs meeting reimbursement pressure).
Over time, coach our provider partners through their own clinic launches.
Who you are
You've personally opened and scaled multiple center-based ABA clinics (or very adjacent multi-site pediatric therapy / behavioral health): de novo launches, not just running an existing site.
You know the full stand-up lifecycle: real estate, build-out, licensing, credentialing, equipment, staffing, and utilization.
You understand ABA / behavioral-health reimbursement (Medicaid and commercial), staffing ratios, and RBT/BCBA labor dynamics.
Bonus: BCBA or ABA clinical-ops leadership; multi-state expansion experience; relationships with ABA-focused healthcare real estate, general contractors, or equipment vendors; comfort with compliance-first arrangements (fair-market-value, Anti-Kickback/Stark, corporate-practice-of-medicine).
Engagement
1099 independent contractor (your own consultancy welcome).
~5–10 hours/week, billed hourly. Remote, with optional occasional travel to pilot markets.
Simple monthly invoicing.
How to apply
Tell us about the centers you've opened: where, how many, and what you learned. A short note plus your LinkedIn or CV is plenty.
