This Product Manager will own the product path that turns utility and building energy data into trustworthy sustainability outcomes: benchmarking, performance standards readiness, audit/RCx report workflows, green energy understanding, and reporting that asset managers and sustainability teams can defend.

You’ll work closely with Utility Operations / Utility Expense Management product and engineering, talk to sophisticated customers every week, and ship capabilities that reduce manual ESG fire drills while opening a durable growth lane for Entrata Utilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Deep sustainability / ESG literacy in the built environment — can explain and apply Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 concepts and calculations; fluent in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager benchmarking requirements; conversant in Building Performance Standards (BPS), energy audits, and Retrocommissioning (RCx) reports; understands green energy / renewable procurement concepts (e.g., RECs, green tariffs, on-site generation) at a product level; familiar with GRESB, SASB (and adjacent frameworks like CRREM, LEED, local benchmarking ordinances).
  • Product management craft in B2B / proptech or utilitytech — discovery, prioritization, clear requirements/acceptance criteria, release readiness, and partnering with engineering without needing to be the engineer. Comfortable owning ambiguous 0→1 and 1→n problems.
  • Multifamily or commercial real estate utility domain awareness — utility billing, commodities, vacancy/common area vs. resident, or energy data workflows. Candidates from sustainability consulting who have sat next to operators are welcome if product muscle is strong.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of GHG Protocol-style Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 concepts and how calculations show up in real portfolios (activity data, emission factors, location- vs market-based Scope 2, common Scope 3 categories for real estate)
  • Direct multifamily or commercial real estate operator / owner experience
  • GRESB or SASB reporting and document creation experience
  • Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in product management (or equivalent ownership) for B2B SaaS, proptech, utilitytech, or closely related domains — OR 5+ years in sustainability/energy consulting with clear evidence of shipping software products.
  • Credentials or coursework such as CEM, LEED AP, WELL, GHG accounting certificates (helpful, not required).
  • Experience with utility billing, submetering, vacancy cost recovery, or energy data platforms.
  • Experience with local benchmarking ordinances or BPS programs (e.g., major US city/state programs).
  • AI & Operational Fluency:

  • AI Integration: Proactively leverages company-approved GenAI tools to automate routine tasks and accelerate high-value deliverables.
  • Strategic Oversight: Functions as the "Human-in-the-Loop," taking full accountability for auditing AI outputs for factual accuracy, brand alignment, and the removal of hallucinations.
  • Data Governance: Adheres strictly to AI security protocols, ensuring no proprietary or Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data is exposed to unauthorized models.
  • Prompt Competency: Demonstrates the ability to craft clear, context-rich prompts to achieve consistent, high-quality results across various business domains.
  • This band covers the full base compensation range for this role. Your offer within this range will depend on factors like experience, skills, and internal equity.
