About the Role
We are looking for an organized and proactive Authorizations Coordinator to ensure our clients always have active insurance coverage and the correct authorizations in place for ABA services.
This role acts as the link between our clinical team, case management team, and insurance providers, making sure authorizations are processed accurately and on time. You'll also oversee a Support Coordinator, so previous leadership or team management experience is highly desirable.
We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, communicates confidently, and takes ownership of their work.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Insurance & Authorization Management
Manage insurance authorizations for ABA therapy services.
Track authorization approvals, renewals, and expirations.
Ensure all clients maintain active insurance coverage and valid authorizations.
Follow up with insurance providers regarding pending requests.
Maintain accurate records within internal systems.
Resolve authorization discrepancies quickly to prevent service interruptions.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Serve as the primary liaison between the clinical team, case management, and insurance providers.
Communicate authorization updates to relevant stakeholders.
Escalate urgent issues impacting client services.
Ensure documentation is complete and compliant.
Leadership & Support
Manage and support a Support Coordinator.
Delegate tasks and monitor workloads.
Help improve workflows and authorization processes.
Provide guidance and ensure high-quality administrative support.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
2–5 years of experience in healthcare administration, insurance authorizations, or a similar coordination role.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal English communication.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Experience working with healthcare documentation and insurance processes.
Preferred
Experience within the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) industry.
Previous experience working with US healthcare insurance.
Leadership or team management experience.
Experience using EMR, CRM, or healthcare management systems.
