Key Responsibilities
- Drive business growth and expand GE Vernova’s Gas Power Services presence in the Syrian market.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve commercial targets and identify new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, power plant operators, and relevant stakeholders.
- Promote the Gas Power Services portfolio, including maintenance, repairs, upgrades, spare parts, and long-term service agreements.
- Understand customer needs and develop tailored service solutions to improve equipment performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Identify and manage sales opportunities throughout the full commercial cycle, from initial engagement to contract negotiation and closure.
- Collaborate with technical, commercial, and project execution teams to develop competitive proposals and deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Monitor market developments, customer requirements, and competitor activities to support business planning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable regulations, and commercial guidelines throughout all sales activities.
- Contribute to long-term customer satisfaction, business development, and sustainable growth of GE Vernova’s Gas Power Services business in Syria.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Sales, Services, Operations, Product Management, or Field Engineering within the power generation industry.
- Strong experience with gas turbine technologies and associated services including:
- Outages.
- Repairs.
- Field services.
- Parts.
- Upgrades and modernization programs.
- Solid understanding of power plant operations, maintenance practices, and reliability programs.
- Experience with GE heavy-duty gas turbine technology and/or other OEM fleets.
- Strong understanding of regional power markets and utility customer environments.
- Experience developing commercial strategies and converting opportunities into orders.
- Strong analytical, financial, and business case development skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic Language.
- Extensive travel Required inside and Outside Syria
Desired Characteristics
- Bachelor’s degree Engineering
- MBA is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of gas power services offerings and lifecycle management solutions.
- Strong understanding of power plant economics, project financing, and customer investment drivers.
- Experience with outage planning, maintenance optimization, and plant performance improvement programs.
- Ability to evaluate plant performance and develop technical-commercial solutions.
- Working knowledge of gas turbines, generators, transformers, control systems, and Balance of Plant equipment.
- Ability to perform feasibility studies and economic evaluations.
- Strong customer-focus with a proven ability to build long-term strategic relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership in driving cross-functional teams and complex commercial pursuits.
- Strong project management and influencing skills.
- Strong network across utilities, developers, EPCs, financiers, and energy sector stakeholders in the Middle East.
- Arabic language proficiency preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and leadership skills.
