The listing
What we're building
We need someone who can work with media hands-on: build relationships, react quickly to relevant news cycles, and turn product context into placements, comments, and stories.
A large part of the work will involve liberal Russian-speaking and international media, especially outlets operating from outside Russia. Taste, speed, and judgment all matter here.
What we're looking for
Core Requirements
- Fluent Russian and English (B2+)
- 4+ years in PR, media relations, or editorial special projects
- A proven publication track record with concrete case studies
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to prepare comments quickly against a live news agenda
- Good understanding of how media organizations decide what to publish
Nice-to-have
- Existing journalist or editor relationships
- Experience relevant to digital products
- Experience developing a PR strategy for digital products
What you'll be doing
Execution
- Build and maintain relationships with liberal Russian-speaking and international media, mostly operating from outside Russia
- Prepare comments and background material for editorial teams and PR partners
- Write and distribute press releases, contributed pieces, and other PR materials
- Initiate placements, find strong story angles, and turn product context into news hooks
Planning and Risk
- Monitor the news cycle and respond quickly to events that are relevant to us
- Plan PR activity and maintain clear reporting
- Map where relationships already exist and where they need to be built from scratch
- Increase share of voice without creating unnecessary reputational risk
