About Dakota
Dakota is a stablecoin infrastructure platform powering modern financial products through regulated money movement, stablecoin orchestration, and cross-border settlement. We serve institutional clients — fintechs, payment service providers, marketplaces, and enterprises — through an API-first platform that abstracts the complexity of custody, compliance, settlement, and banking partnerships.
We are a remote-first team across North America and Europe. We value high-quality work, clear thinking, and ownership.
The Role
We are seeking an Onboarding Analyst to join our compliance team and support the onboarding of both institutional and consumer clients. You will conduct KYC, KYB, and due diligence reviews end to end, serve as a point of contact for client CIP questions, and partner with the Compliance Manager to refine workflows. The goal is to keep onboarding efficient, accurate, and fully compliant with global AML/CTF requirements while delivering a smooth client experience.
What You'll Do
Own the onboarding lifecycle: Manage the intake, review, and timely resolution of onboarding and inbound KYC/KYB requests from institutional and consumer clients.
Onboard institutional clients: Review entity documentation, including formation documents, ownership and control structures, and ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) information for businesses, funds, and other legal entities.
Onboard consumer clients: Collect and verify identity documentation and complete customer due diligence (CDD) for individual applicants.
Conduct screening and enhanced due diligence: Perform PEP, sanctions, and adverse media screening, and complete enhanced due diligence (EDD) where required.
Assess and escalate risk: Evaluate client risk profiles, determine when documentation does not meet the standard, and escalate high-risk cases to the Compliance Manager.
Support ongoing monitoring: Assist with periodic client reviews, reporting, regulatory filings, and ad-hoc compliance initiatives.
What We're Looking For
2 or more years of experience in KYC/KYB, AML, compliance, or client onboarding at a fintech, payments, crypto, or financial services company.
Working knowledge of global AML/CTF requirements, FATF standards, and CIP best practices for both institutional entities and individuals, with the ability to apply them in practice.
Familiarity with onboarding/AML platforms, identity verification tools, and screening databases.
Strong attention to detail and organization, including under high volume and tight deadlines, and comfort handling sensitive client data.
Clear, confident written and verbal communication with clients, senior stakeholders, and internal teams, and sound judgment on when to resolve versus escalate.
A proactive, self-directed approach and the ability to adapt in a fast-moving environment.
A genuine interest in building a career in AML/CFT compliance.
