ABOUT THE ROLEWe are hiring our first Senior Accounting Manager / Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and build the financial infrastructure the company runs on. This is a foundational role for someone who can own the close, build strong systems and controls, and create the reporting foundation that helps take the company from startup to category leader.
You will report to the Head of Finance & Strategy and work closely with finance and leadership. You will own the numbers and the processes behind them, making sure the company can move quickly with confidence in its financial reporting, internal controls, and operating discipline.

Own the systems, controls, and reporting infrastructure that leadership, the board, and investors will rely on
Partner closely with finance and cross-functional leaders on decisions that shape how the company operates
Create an AI-native finance stack and help define how automation and intelligent workflows support the accounting function
Join a company where the playbook is still being written and your impact will be visible immediately
Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, and deliver timely, GAAP-compliant financials that are board- and investor-ready, including ownership of revenue recognition for subscription and usage based
Maintain a clean, well-documented general ledger with account coding that scales as the business grows.
Run (and partially automate) AP and AR end to end, including customer invoicing, collections, and expense management.
Manage tax compliance and filings, and own relationships with external audit, tax, and legal partners.
Build and enforce internal controls, and prepare the company to be audit-ready ahead of future financing rounds and a first external audit.
Define and own the AI-native finance tool stack, evaluating and selecting the right systems while identifying where AI can automate and improve workflows.
Hire, mentor, and build the accounting team as the function scales.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA strongly preferred.
5 to 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a high-growth SaaS company
Strong command of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls, including ASC 606 revenue recognition and deferred revenue for subscription & usage businesses.
Experience managing month-end close and preparing financial statements, and experience in completing audits.
Ability to build sophisticated financial models, automate workflows, and work comfortably with large datasets.
A proven track record of building accounting processes in an early-stage environment.
InsurTech Experience.
Big 4 Accounting Experience.
Experience with venture-backed startup accounting and external audit or diligence preparation.
Experience with accounting process automation, reporting dashboards, and systems integrations.
Direct partnership with finance and leadership at a company defining a new category in commercial insurance.
