The listing
We are seeking a Legacy Developer to support the analysis and modernization of Java EE legacy systems. The main focus is the independent exploration, analysis, and documentation of existing applications to enable successful migration projects.
- Analyze and explore existing Java EE applications
- Identify and document relevant components, dependencies, and application flows
- Prepare findings for development teams
- Support backend development and migration initiatives
- Create documentation and Jira tickets for knowledge transfer
Requirements:
- Proven ability to analyze unfamiliar and poorly documented systems
- Experience with Java EE/Jakarta EE and Enterprise Java Beans (EJB)
- Hands-on experience with at least one traditional application server (WebSphere, WebLogic, or WildFly/JBoss)
- XML configuration and deployment descriptors
- Maven and Ant
- Strong documentation skills

Experience migrating legacy systems to Spring/Spring Boot or newer Jakarta EE
- JSP or JSF experience
- Full-stack experience
- Practical experience with multiple traditional application servers
