Marked remote on the employer's board
Their board carries a remote setting on this posting — a field they filled in, not wording we read. The location field names somewhere specific, which is usually where the team or the entity sits.

About the company
Our client is a fast-growing enterprise software company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take ownership of how a software product is rolled out, secured and kept running, mostly in customer-controlled cloud and on-premises environments and in a company-hosted setup. Make the core architecture calls as the only infrastructure engineer on a small team.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain infrastructure as code for customer and hosted deployments.
- Package applications for container orchestration and manage the clusters they run on.
- Build secure, automated delivery pipelines that avoid long-lived credentials.
- Enforce data isolation between tenants and manage secrets handling.
- Set up monitoring and take a share of on-call duties.
- Take part in client security reviews and answer infrastructure questions.
- Make architecture decisions and report directly to the CEO.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- A track record of leading infrastructure design from start to finish, whether as the first infrastructure hire or the person making the design calls, rather than only upkeep of systems someone else designed.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Kubernetes in production.
- Experience running production infrastructure beyond a single internal AWS environment, such as deploying into customer accounts, virtual private clouds or on-premises systems, or running production on Azure, on-premises or another major cloud.
- Based in the United States, working US time zones.
Bonus points
- Background building infrastructure for a heavily governed sector such as finance, insurance, health care, government or defense.
