About the company

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Act as a senior backend-focused engineer who takes responsibility for how important platform components are built and kept dependable. The job blends hands-on technical leadership, working with AI-assisted coding tools, coaching teammates and close collaboration with product partners.

What you'll do

- Drive the architecture and build-out of significant platform features from concept through release.

- Produce written design proposals for sizeable efforts and help weigh the business rationale for technical changes.

- Plan systems so they stay fast, scalable and dependable as demand grows.

- Evaluate how technical changes affect the business and coordinate with other groups to handle the effects.

- Use AI coding assistants to produce code, then verify the results with the same care applied to a colleague's pull request.

- Coach fellow engineers and contribute to the team's technical roadmap.

- Work with product and other functions to keep engineering effort aligned with business needs.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- Experience at a growth-stage technology company, ideally a larger later-stage business or a smaller one with strong enterprise adoption.

- Track record of delivering production software with the help of AI coding tools.

- Expert-level skill in Node.js and TypeScript.

- Hands-on experience with distributed systems and message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

- History of being the end-to-end technical owner for a significant product area or system.

- Clear, product-minded communication.

- Solid engineering fundamentals, sufficient to judge the quality and safety of machine-generated code.

- Eligibility to work remotely from the US or Canada, with Pacific time zone overlap preferred.
